ABSTRACT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00a0The article is grounded in Weber\u2019s perspective on three societal authority types (traditional authority, rational-legal authority, and charismatic authority) and analyses social control within the K\u2019ho and Mn\u00f4ng communities in the South- Central Highlands of Vietnam according to these types of authority. By collecting data through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and questionnaires, the article provides a comprehensive review of the three types of authority involved in the community management and control of the K\u2019ho and Mn\u00f4ng in this region. The findings reveal that, depending on the historical period, a particular type of authority tends to rise to prominence, exerting significant influence over the\u00a0community. Another type may occupy an intermediate position, while the remaining type gradually loses its sway, becoming more of a traditional symbol rather than playing an active role in managing the community.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
