Her thesis examined the origins and development of the Malayan Indian Congress between 1946 and 1957. Her research interests include Malaysian political history, Malaysian Indian political history and the Indian diaspora in Southeast Asia. She has previously worked as a tutor in the Indian Studies Department, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Malaya. She is currently an independent researcher.
