Her main research interest is how contemporary theory (particularly in the areas of postcolonial studies, feminist theory and psychoanalysis) can be brought to the area of China Studies. Her specific research interests include theorising population control in China, which she pursued in her dissertation\u00a0<em>Over Chinese Bodies: Towards a Postcolonial Sinology.<\/em>\u00a0She has been a visiting scholar at Peking University and an editor of the\u00a0<em>Melbourne Journal of Politics.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><em><\/em>Kaz Ross&#8217; other research interests include contemporary Chinese art and food safety in China. She has presented research on Asian tourism, especially &#8220;dark&#8221; tourism.
