Nicole Tarulevicz.

Nicole Tarulevicz completed her PhD in History at the University of Melbourne in 2004. In addition to teaching at the University of Melbourne, she worked as an Assistant Professor of History at Cleveland State University in 2006–2009, before joining the School of Asian Languages and Studies at the University of Tasmania in 2010. As well as being a historian, she is a food scholar and a scholar of Southeast Asia, with particular interest in Singapore.

Her most recent project is Eating the Nation: A Cultural History of Singapore (University of Illinois Press). Her broad research interests include food and food history, nationalism, national histories, British Empire, post-colonialism and cities. She is starting work on a new book project: Food Fright! A Cultural History of Food Security and Food Sovereignty.
